These rules keep CampusMarket safe and fair for everyone. They work together with our Terms of Service and Safety Guidelines. Violations may lead to listing removal or account suspension.
1. Be Respectful
Treat all members with respect. Hate speech, bullying, harassment, threats, or discrimination are not allowed in listings, messages, or profiles.
2. Honest Listings
- Use accurate titles and descriptions; disclose damage, missing parts, or defects.
- Upload clear photos that match the item you are selling.
- Price items fairly; do not use misleading “bait” listings.
3. Prohibited Items and Content
Do not list or promote:
- Weapons, ammunition, knives intended as weapons, or dangerous items
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or prescription medications
- Alcohol, tobacco, or vape products
- Adult or explicit content
- Stolen goods, counterfeit items, or recalled products
- Academic dishonesty materials (exam papers, test banks, graded homework, etc.)
- Scams, phishing, or anything that violates university or local law
Listings are checked automatically and by admins. Items that violate these rules may be rejected or held for review.
4. Honor Your Agreements
If you agree to buy or sell, follow through in good faith. Repeated no-shows, ghosting, or abusive canceling may result in restrictions on your account.
5. Payments and Scams
- Peer-to-peer payments (cash, bank transfer, etc.) are between you and the other party—meet in person when possible.
- Do not send money before seeing the item unless you fully trust the other user.
- Never share passwords, verification codes, or student portal credentials.
- CampusMarket online payments are only for promotions and donations, not for ordinary used-item sales between students.
6. Messaging
Keep negotiations on CampusMarket when possible. Do not spam users or send unsolicited commercial messages unrelated to a listing.
7. Reporting Problems
If you see a suspicious listing or user behavior, use Report. You can also track your reports on My Reports. Admins review reports and may warn, suspend, or remove accounts.
8. Listing Approval
New listings may be published immediately or held in pending approval while our systems or admins review them. You will be notified when a listing is approved or needs changes.
9. Promotions
Paid listing promotions must still follow all community rules. Misleading promoted listings will be removed without refund at our discretion.
