- Messages and orders: direct messages between users, order requests, and deal-related activity on the platform.
- Reports: content you submit when reporting a listing or user.
- Reviews and ratings: feedback you leave after completed transactions.
- Notifications: in-app notification history; optional browser push subscription data if you enable push alerts.
- Payment-related data: when you pay for promotions or donations, our payment provider processes payment details—we receive confirmation and metadata (not full card numbers).
- Technical data: cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy), server logs, and security-related data.
2. How We Use Information
- Create and secure your account (including email verification).
- Display listings, profiles, and messages to other users as part of the service.

3. AI-Assisted Listing Moderation
When you submit a listing, we may send the title, description, and listing photos to automated moderation services to check for policy issues, blurry images, and obvious prohibited content. Listings that do not pass automated or human review may be held for pending approval or removed. Moderation results are used for platform safety, not for advertising profiles about you.
4. Chatbot
If you use the CampusMarket help chatbot, your messages may be processed by our chatbot service and sent to an automated provider to generate replies. Do not share passwords or sensitive personal data in the chatbot.
5. Message Translation (Optional)
If you use in-chat translation, message text may be sent to a translation service to produce the translated version.
6. Service Providers
We use trusted third-party providers to run CampusMarket. They process data on our behalf only as needed to provide the service, such as:
- Hosting and infrastructure — to keep the website available and secure
- Database and authentication — to store account data and sign you in
- Payment processing — for promotions and donations
- Email delivery — for verification, password reset, and service alerts
- Safety and automation tools — for listing moderation, optional translation, and help chat when enabled
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for their marketing.
7. What Other Users Can See
Your public profile, active listings, and messages you send to other users are visible according to normal marketplace use. Other verified campus users can browse listings and contact sellers. Do not post information in listings or messages that you want to keep private.
8. Data Retention
We keep account and activity data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward so we can operate the service, resolve disputes, and meet operational needs. You may contact us to request account deletion; some records may be retained where required for security or legal compliance once formal retention policies are in place.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No online service is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password.
